Airstrike near Syrian capital kills at least 7

BEIRUT (AP) ? Syrian activists say a government airstrike in a village near Damascus has killed at least seven people, including a mother, father and three children from the same family.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the air raid took place Sunday in al-Barika, southeast of the capital.

A video posted online said to be from the site showed dead bodies in the back of a truck and body parts and blood scattered in the street. The video appeared genuine and corresponded to other activist reports.

Damascus activists gave the names of the dead, including the five members of the Shehadeh family.

More than 60,000 people have been killed in Syria since the country's uprising began in March 2011.
